The Wall Street Bull

The famous, 7,000 pound bronze Wall Street Bull was created in 1989 by sculptor Arturo Di Modica, who was inspired by the stock market crash of 1987. Without a permit, Di Modica snuck his sculpture on to the street in front of the Stock Exchange. After it was removed by the police, the public made such an outcry that the City Department of Parks and Recreation arranged for the piece to be moved to its current location at Bowling Green.
