Tom's Diner

This corner diner was the inspiration for the Suzanne Vega song, aptly titled "Tom's Diner". The cathederal bells she mentions hearing are that of the Cathedral of Saint John the Divine, which is located just a few blocks away.

  Any Seinfeld fan will instantly recognize this location as Monks Diner, the hangout of Jerry, George, Elaine and Kramer. Although the full name, Tom's Diner, appears in early episodes, the full name was carefully kept out of later seasons to avoid paying royalities to the Diner's owners.
