Waldorf Astoria Hotel
The original Waldorf Astoria was built on 33rd and 5th and remained there until it was torn down in 1929 to make way for the Empire State Building. It opened in its current location in 1931 as the largest hotel in the world. In 1993, it was officially recognized as a New York City Landmark.
