Bloomingdales

Bloomingdales began as a Ladies Notion Shop on the Lower East Side where they specialized in Hoop Skirts. They moved to their current location in 1886 and slowly expanded until they took over the entire block in the 1920s. Known by New Yorkers as Bloomies, the store is also famous for having created the first designer shopping bag with its Brown Bag series.

  In a serendipitous turn of events Jonathan and Sara each reached for the same pair of gloves while Christmas Shopping here. What followed turned out to be the most romantic night of their lives, but thanks to their trusting in fate, it would be many years before they would see each other again. It was also here that Jonathan later returned in an attempt to track down Sara with the use of a reciept.
